I'm going to give a "shout out" for Ultra Skin tips.

I have used lots and lots of tips and their soft tip has become my favorite. I have one on my Becue and on several of my wood shafts and they play great on all of them.

The reason I'm giving them a plug today is because of the NUMBER OF TIMES that people have came up to my table and asked me what kind of tip I use. People ask me almost every week.

I was playing a guy yesterday and he went on and on about how much "stuff" I could get on the ball and he kept saying he was going to buy some.

I could have posted this in one of the other forums, but this forum gets more exposure.

If you haven't tried out Ultra Skin tips, you maybe should the next time you need a tip change. I use a soft and I have pounded the hell out of the cue ball and also broke hundreds of times with my cue and my tip has NEVER mushroomed and I have NEVER once had to touch the edges to groom it. It never glazes over and I only hit it with my tip tool every once in a while to get the old impacted chalk out of the pores.

I am going to buy some more this week.

Not to throw some shade on your choice of tips, but you have described the HARD US tips. I’ve installed dozens of Ultra Skin Soft tips and they were harder than Chinese arithmetic after a few hours of play. You wouldn’t believe the effort it took to cut one of the soft tips off after just a few hours of play. Please let people like me who install tips know how you can tell you have a true SOFT Ultra Skin tip. I like their prices and their hard tips work great on a break cue. I’ve just had the worst luck with their soft tips.

I actually like them too. A medium came on my Prime M shaft, but after an hour of play, it popped right off while chalking.

I decided to get 15 of the Very Soft. So far so good.

Thought about trying a few different hardness US tips over last few years but have to cut my well broken in short Triangles off to do so.

Triangles last forever, and to me they play better as they get shorter.....kills me to cut them off.

-Kat,

Tips ....

"I have tried all the BIG NAME , EXPENSIVE TIPS....
None compare to ULTRA SKIN....
I use the HARD-
PLAYS GREAT , NO GLAZING OVER OR MUSHROOMING
AND THEY REALLY LAST .
Tom always 1st class service too

They are inexpensive thats for sure. I'll buy a few different hardness prob med and hard to try on one of my shafts. Got to try one sooner or later after the good reviews I have seen from trusted members.

I can tell I have a soft tip by the way it plays.

I've played with their medium tips and the soft are noticeably different.

I get mine from Tom Hay.

Has anyone tried the new Ivory US's yet? I've used quite a few of the black ones for a few years, like the Pro hardness.

I like the Ultra-skin medium. I bought the new Jacoby 140 piece shaft and it finally started hitting well for me when I put on an Ultra-skin medium. Dennis Searing's Precision tip is the best and still my first choice.

Ivory's play a lil softer than the blacks. I tried the soft but it was too soft for me. The med. ivory is firm and plays really well. Worth trying out for the price.
