Shouting at the Pool Table!

I see why people shout at the pool table when they make a great shot! But why in the hell would you shout, or hang your head and stare, or drop like your bones just deteriorated when you miss a shot? Provided you are playing to win against a friend or in a competitive match(if there is any difference.).
