Shy but wants to play

I don't have a fancy phone and don't like to be 'that connected' all the time anyway. Thanks, but I'll pass.

We won the first set of matches and beat the wildcard team. We won a seat for City Cup again. That's the YAY part.

We didn't beat the second team, but that's okay. We came in second place. We got trophies last time....it was their first time to get trophies. I'm all good with sharing the wealth.

BCA 9 Ball: total games won for summer season: 25. My mentor: 24.

Tonight was the last night of Monday APA 8 ball. We are in second place. I played another 4, race to 3. I won, 3-1.

Time off for good behavior before it starts all over again. I'll most likely be working Jan-April doing taxes for Big Tax Company, so pool will be limited this Spring. Ahr.:frown:

I think I'm only in one league, Tuesday night APA, and tonight was the first night of Fall Session. We are playing the same 6 teams we played for the last 2 sessions!

There are supposedly 2,400 APA members in this town, and we keep playing the same peeps. If you're gonna play this league, mix it up! Play someone else's teams! I always play the same people 6/8 people! Tired of it, big time.

Tonight's match, race to 3, we are both 4's. End score 1-3, I won the match.

I'm a sub on a BCA 9 ball league. Between school and moving, with work coming up, I'm fairly busy right now. Sigh.

!

Well, back to Tuesday night APA 8 ball. Last week, won my match.

Tonight was playoff night for Monday night APA 8 ball. Thank god I'm done with this team! I was only in it to sub for the regular team members who took the summer off, and when they return this fall (next week), I am out and they are in. I don't get to play with them in city cup if they win.

For some reason, this team had no head for strategy. We won the first set of games and a spot in the City Cup. I won my match against another 4. We only need to win 3 matches out of 5. We got the first 3 and that was that.

The next set of games was for trophies. Again, we needed to win 3 matches out of 5. Our team captain, a 5, put himself up first against a 4. While he was playing, they threw me against another 4 (split tables, 2 games going on at once). Race was to 3 for me. I got the first game, she got the second, third and 4th and won.

Now, a GOOD STRATEGY would be to put up one of your best players. We had a 6 and a 7 in the wings who didn't get to play the first set of matches. What do they do? While the captain is behind in his matches, his wife throws herself (a TWO) in the third game slot and begins to play before he is done.

WRONG!!!!!

If he loses, that's 2 losses and she MUST WIN. She's playing a 3. She loses. Our best players don't get to shoot and we're out. STUPID.

I don't ever want to play a game with players who can't recognize even the most basic strategy. Both the 6 and 7 were disgusted with the obvious lack of desire to win.

Tomorrow night: 8 ball on a team that knows how to play!

This season is going well, and we're in first place again. I've decided to bag writing about this, so I'll go back to lurking behind the scenes.

I'm starting more tournaments, and things are heating up in the personal life arena (moving, tax classes, job in Jan, etc), so there will be less time to blab about how much the APA sucks. ;) I'm switching over to BCA Spring season.

I only stayed in APA for the other teammates, who need the lower players to still compete. If not for them, I'd be out, because I don't enjoy it. We're still in the same division and only play 5 other teams. We've played these same teams since I started with them over a year ago. It's not fun playing the same 6-8 people month after month. I never get to play the level 5-6 players, so I'm not improving as much as I did playing BCA. At least with BCA, you play EVERYONE in a season....as many as 40 different shooters.

Thanks for reading, and keep shooting!

It's been an enjoyable thread- thank you for doing it so long.

Perhaps something interesting will happen this season, or maybe you'll have thought you want to share, and you'll write about it.

I did like watching your progress and development. Changes are subtle and slow- and they're especially hard to see and remember when they're your own. It'd be really neat if we could see a player's developmnent span that coursed over many, many years.

Maybe when you play the bca thing next season, you could start another thread with that new title you've been wanting...?
