side pocket question

what can be done to tighten up side pockets? how much bigger (if at all) should they be? My corners play okay, a little loose buy my sides are pretty big. Alos look how the installer cut my pockets, so they stick out, insdie the hole. not sure I like that.

the sides should be 1/2" bigger.

The problem with the pockets is that the installer DID NOT cut the pockets. Pockets are generally a little bigger to allow you to trim for a precise fit. They should not be sticking out past the facings. Also, SD is correct. Sides are usually 1/2 wider.

yYou can trim them mark a line on the pocket with a pencil or felt pen. When you go to trim them use a sharp knife but remember to cut away from you so if the blade slips and it will you dont get your self. most hold the pocket against there belly for suport then it slips and you get nailed in the belly with a knife. Take your time and trim slow some cut easy most are a pain in the @#$%^ soapy water on the blade helps too.

Double check were you put the nails at for the pockets to make sure the ball wont hit them and cause nicks on the balls...
