Good match from 2000 on Youtube
Acu Stats. Excellent play by both. Plus good interview after. In fact even if you don't like 14.1 the interview is worth watching, just skip ahead.

Accu Stats produced matches, especially the classics, are the best in the business and it's hardly even close. I can listen to Buddy, Grady, and BiIly all day long. Sadly, commentary and production are now very lacking and I can hardly watch for more than 20 minutes before looking for something else. There's more to filming pool matches than watching 2 guys bang balls for an hour.

Agree. The interview is great. Anytime you get Sigel talking about pool it's terrific. Varner too for that matter.

Yea, usually the interview is just a throwaway at the end. This is like 15 minutes and really interesting. You know what I found interesting, how Sigel remembers almost everything he did and why during the game, I mean in detail.
 
There’s just something different about how the older generation shot, and I’m only 43 so this isn’t some get off my lawn perspective.

The modern game is calculating to a fault. There are still some throwback players, but it just feels so robotic. Sterilized. Template racks. Every table must play identically, etc

If you go into YouTube search and put in Mike Siegel John Schmidt you can pull up the match that he was talking about. His first match after 5 years being away from the game and it turned out to be the nightmare he was worried about.

Regardless that it's a bad match and a lots of missed balls and some terrible position play it's really worth watching.
