Signing Cues...

That is exactly what it is. There are a couple of tricks to doing it though to get it really nice. One is to print on a sheet of paper what you want to make as the transfer. Then cut off a small piece of the transfer material big enough to cover what you printed. Then put a little tape on the edges and tape it right over what you printed on the paper. This is so you don't waste the material or if you just want to print one thing like putting someone's name on a cue. Now use a soft artist eraser and dull down the shiny surface of the transfer material this way you get a nice super sharp print. Now just run it back through the printer and it will print on the small piece you taped on.

Very good tips. I was wondering what you did to not waste so much material.

could you print a whole page of the same thing (your signature or your logo and cut them out as you needed them?

Of course, you should still take a few minutes and do the eraser thing so the ink goes on nicely.

Let me get this straight...
1) Print design of choice onto the clear sheet.
2) Cut design out.
3) Soak in water for a few minutes.
4) Press onto cue in desired location for a few minutes.
5) Let dry xx hours before applying the finish over the decal

* If the ink is printed on one side of the sheet and then you soak it in water, then press on the cue, wouldn't it be a mirror image when complete? Or does the ink soak thru the sheet and into the wood?

Thanks for explaining and for the photo(s)...coming soon!

I printed up an example but was not able to apply it to a cue. I didn't have water proof ink in the printer just the cheap refill crap, so I could not do it. The rest of the disscussion though completely explains exactly what it is all about even without a picture. All you would have seen is a picture of a cue with a siginature on it, the process involved is what counts.
