Its elephant hide. Someone asked about the black lizard body, I suspect the best person to ask is Jack himself as I don't know. My guess is that it is lizard embossed leather. If its lizard, then that is one BIG lizard. I know Monitors grow big but this one must have been the DADDY, ha, ha!
