I had Simonis 860 installed on my table recently and doesn't seem to play much faster i have heard if it is installed upside down that can make it slower is the writing side up the way its supposed to be installed? Also had a real difficult time finding anyone EXPERIENCED in recovering or pool table maintenance in the Lacrosse, Wisconsin area does anyone here know of anyone in the area so i don't have this problem in the future?

Writing side up is the correct way to install it.

What cloth are you comparing it to, as you said that your new cloth does not seem to be much faster?

Simonis 860 is slower than 860HR, and 760. If you simply replaced old 860 with new 860, any increase in speed will be marginal.

Unfortunately, I can't make any referrals for a technician in Wisconsin..

I have a 9' Gold Crown with Simonis 860 on it.
I also have a 7' Valley with Championship cloth, I used Championship because I wanted the table to match the tables the local vendors supply for tournaments. I think the Championship might play slightly faster than the Simonis 860 even though its not real smooth cloth like the 860. Sometimes when the cue ball is barely rolling just before it stops you can see it turn slightly left or right from the nap on the cloth. It really depends on what you are comparing the 860 to. One local table has 860 on it that is so old and worn the cue has to hit a rail to finally stop, or at least that what it seems like.

its definitely installed right then but maybe the rails are the problem since English really takes but the cue ball doesn't seem to go anywhere, the cloth is original to the table so whatever AMF was putting on back in 1980
