Sink the 8, or win on a technicality?

I did actually play some good defense to put him in the position to scratch on the 8. He kicked and scratched so I guess more credit is due and thats why it felt sooo satisfying.

I guess it probably wouldn't of been as satisfying if i was in my chair as he run the table and scratched the 8. But that sounds way better then watching him run it and making the 8 against me.
 
4 games without making a called ball

This happened to me this weekend in APA Master's league:

I win the break. I break and run, make the eight and scratch. Opponent breaks, the eight ball goes in. He does it again. And again. He is up 4-0 in a race to 7 and hasn't made a called ball.

It was tough to watch, but oh so satisfying to grind it out and win 7-6.

I not only don't feel "good" about winning like this, I can't bring myself to play well after a slop shot or a miss. Usually if I miss a shot that should be 80% for me, I end up not winning even if I get back to the table.

Although only time I really feel bad about the other player losing on a scratch is if the shot he made was so hard that he had almost no way to control the cueball. Like an on the rail thin cut. If it's an easy shot and they guy did not think or hit it too hard just because, well, that's on him.

It's true, anyone can miss with ball in hand. I once saw Efren take ball in hand and miss a one-foot stop-shot straight in the side pocket.
 
I hate when my opponent looses that way, but on the same token, for me a win is a win........ I will shake there hand at the end of the match and tell them.... good shooting, sorry I had to win that way,(It sucks I have lost that way, and it bites) but still, I will take my wins as I can get them right now.
