Cue is Sold
I am letting go of three cues (2 Benders and this Skip Weston).
If this doesn't sell here this week, I will let it go on Ebay next week. Just trying to avoid the crappy ebay fees (its a double butt-kicker when thye take your ebay commission AND the Paypal commission).
So here are the cue specs
- 8 points 4hi - 4lo with ivory diamonds in the butt and the high points (lines up).
- 2 veneers on the 4 hi points (maple black)
- The low points are ebony, I believe the high points are madagascar ebony (its brown - can't remember the exact wood).
- Forearm, birdseye maple - NO DINGS AT ALL
- Butt, same wood as the high points (can't ID it, but its a nice deep brown wood). It has some minor dings in the finish but nothing major or that you can see without looking for.
- Bushka rings at ABCE (these are Ebony/Ivory)
- FULL Ivory joint (NOT a ivory slip, this is a full block of ivory).
- Lizard wrap done by Skip Weston -done very well, very hard to find the seam. Can't feel it at all
- Shafts (Two) - these are custom made by Skip Weston for this cue with the matching buska rings (with ivory). The 314 emblems are shaved, but these are definitely 314 shafts, you can see the splicing of the shaft. However, i think Skip intentionally chose the best blanks because unlike typical 314 shafts, the splices aren't that obvious unless you really look for it..and even then, its hard to tell. These shafts are PERFECTLY straight no roll anywhere along the shaft. One shaft has about 10-20 hours of play, some bluing at the ferrule (can be removed wiht some care), and a lepro tip. The other shaft has VERY MINIMAL play, no more than an hour i am sure. And the tip has been changed to Moori Medium and is currently unshaped. Up to you to shave it.
This cue is a very classic looking cue with the wood combinations and design. It will cost over 2,000 from Skip. It is a great playing cue for someone that likes 314's but also want a custom cue from a strong prominent cuemaker.
I attached some pics i took of it last year. The condition is unchanged. It has been stored since then.

One note, I had to add. This is a GREAT playing cue..really good balance..the cue literally floats in your hand. I own(ed) lots of different top cues, and this is the only cue which i will say literally FLOATS in your hand..it just glides straight and smooth, the balance is perfect on this cue.
