SL tourney general info?

Is it possible to park there while the tourney is going on? I could drive in easily but not sure if I'll have a place to park.
If you stay in one of the hotels, say, 5-10 minutes away, is it a good enough area to walk it, or better to take a cab? I haven't been down there yet. I saw the hotel list on the site, but not sure which are really the better ones - anybody staying at any of them?

Good question.. I too will be driving there.. how is parking? im not worried about hotels..I'm staying with my brother, who happens to live in Queens

I never felt uncomfortable walking in that area. (SL Billiards was said to be in a problem area, but I didn't feel uncomfortable on the street there, either, although they wanted me to wait inside for a cab.)

I had a car last year, and I could always find parking within a couple of blocks, although it took 10 minutes sometimes.

There is a garage for visitors just north of the room and on the same side of the street, but I'm not sure how it works.

I'm going to be staying at the Comfort Inn, which is about four blocks from the room.

I've also not had problems walking around the area the few times I've been. It's only five or ten minutes on foot to the subway, so maybe if you're already at a relative's in Queens you could just not bother driving at all.
