Slate question

I just bought a new Brunswick Glennwood table and I noticed a zig zag looking line running through one piece of the slate. The guy installing the table said that it was nothing to worry about. He said it was just an imperfection/lamination in the slate. It did feel like grind/machining marks were done when the crack/line was present (you can't feel anything). Is this something I should worry about?

Table

I believe what you see is a mineral deposit, it depends on what type mineral it is if it can cause a problem. Calcium and iron are no good and will cause the slate to crumble/chip/delaminate in the deposit area over its use as a pool table.< mostly round deposits'
Remember' slate is only a few million years old!
I'm not a slate profeshional, I'm only a half part-time slate installer
Most likley your all good! Brunswick slate has a warranty.

Just mineral deposits as stated - nothing to worry about. Fyi, Brunswick warranties are only valid for the original purchaser...
