Slate repair chipped

I have a GC 9 ft with a good sized chip about 1/2 inch deep x 1 1/2 round.
Can it be repaired? I have seen epoxy advertised but thought I would ask those who do tables all the time. What is the best product to use?

I would use Body Filler like bondo. Have used it many times with big chips and cracks.
