Slatebed or MDF snooker table?

STAY AWAY slate only I have many used slate tables, you can pick up a older one for as low as $400 in 4x8.

A Filipino friend had bought a 6' one which was used (and abused) on a daily basis that lasted less than 2 years. Another Indian family friend in Texas had a Slatron which was not as 'abused' as the other and well cared for but nevertheless did not last long either.

Most of all mdf pool tables are made in China. From my personal experience, they are less durable, prone to warping, cloth maintenance and "drive-ability" of balls are some of the cons in comparison to slate (or even hardwood). The Permaslate, which is essentially mdf reinforced with plastic seems to outperform other similar versions made with mdf, however, all seem to benefit short life.

As 'dbCustomCues' mentioned, you can find an inexpensive used slate one for long term use for money's worth.
