Slipstik Application

Just found what I think is a better method of application for those that are using the Slipstik product.

Apply 2 -3 drops directly to the shaft in different spots and rub in with finger, let sit for 5 minutes and then buff with soft terry or cotton. My customers are raving over it now .

I like the way it is working now (as directed) BUT - I'll always try something different if it works better.

I've applied it that way and I've put 2 or 3 drops on a paper towel.

Whichever way you apply it, this stuff works very well.
 
I was thinking about getting some of this Slipstic. I just have one question about it. Does it build up on the stick? If it does, does it come off easily? I did read the web site but it did not address these questions.


Secondly, I know this has be on here before, but since this thread is handy. I've got some chalk spots on my ferrel. What is good to take them off?
 
Cpt, I have not seen any buildup on the shafts that I have done. The product is quite thin. Also, any petroleum based product removes it quite well, and they also have a cleaner out as well.

As for the ferrule, I have always used a little lighter fluid and 2000 grit to clean mine, you might also think of putting on a newer ferrule next tip change. The newer materials are almost as resistant to chalk as ivory.

My cue guy (Jim Buss) uses soft scrub - works great.

Works great as a shaft whitener, the trouble I have had is the small particles imbedding in the wood pores. Do you know how he combats that???

A whitening type of toothpaste will work.

It will stay on your cues shaft for quite a number of weeks and comes off easily with just about any cleaning product. Our SlipStic Cleaner removes it in a single wipe, right down to the origional cuesmith finish.

Just a note about the cleaner: We had been going back and forth with the Post Office on the cleaner. We defined it as flammable and there are newer regulations in place. Anyway they got out and the PO got us for another $5.50 per mailing, oh well whats's why we need to get it to the pool rooms as we can send larger shipments for less money. We are sending everyone that purchased the Conditioner a free Cleaner. Those that ordered the cleaner are getting an extra one.

The chalk spots on your ferrel, if surface level, can be removed with the cleaner. If they got into the wood, then a cuesmith is recommended. Some have steamed their shaft first and used the cleaner with good results. A cuesmith is always best.

Either go to www.slipstic.com or call 585 226 1272. The best way is to get your pool hall to carry it as you will be able to save on shipping.

We have only gotten to 1% of the pool halls at this time so have your pool room contact me and we can get it there much sooner. Many of the pool halls do not have web sites or emails so it is a long process.

I'm really curious, how many pool halls are out there? Are you going to sell to retail stores too? How about online retailers?

My research is that there are about 1200 that actually sell products in addition to pool time.

On-line retailers, about 10 top ones everyone has heard about and about another 150 that are smaller but many are excellent.

Its a small pool hall, but he carries some small products. If he gets it then I can just buy some there :)
