Slow-Mo Video Attempt

I was messing with my DLSR around the table today, and I decided to see IF i can do a little slow-mo video. Most of the shots are 60fps with, last two just 30. Here is the little video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OarMSDkOrcQ
thanks a lot

That's a good start! Slow motion is so much fun. I like that your video had sound, too.

Keep it up, and let me know if you have any questions.

I bet you could get some pretty cool footage if you use a faster shutter speed (say 1/500th or so), and try some artificial slow motion scripts using VirtualDub + AVISynth (both are free). I have some scripts I could post for you if you're interested.

I'd be happy to help, just let me know!

There are a couple of interpolation programs that do amazing things with slo-mo... I know one exists for FCP for sure and there are other plugins/addons for other editing software.... I'd go see if google is your friend and type in what editing software you are using + "interpolation"

How goes the learning to break btw???

Chris

Initially I thought 60fps would not show very much. But I was wrong. There is a lot that can be seen, certainly enough to correct errors and see an improvement.
How much extra light were you using to get this video?
Thanks for sharing,
Neil

Thanks for the feedback guys, I had no additional light. Seems that there is one because I shot most of these at F/1.4 having more light coming into my lens.

Those are cool, though it's a little jittery, is there a way to get over 60 fps and then slow it down? Quality is quite nice.

I'm still hoping for a good video that shows the 9 ball wing ball kissing off the [already moving] ball below it, on a successful 9 ball break.

Been working had on my break, with the Break RAK i broke 25.1 mph and had the cueball DEAD center of the table. Thanks for the Accu-System racks, they help a lot to get more of a natural result on the 5 year worn out cloth.
