Slump Busting?

Background:
At one time, I considered myself a good player, but that was a long time ago. I've been away from the game for about 12 years. I just recently started getting the itch again so I joined a league.

I won my first 2 matches pretty convincingly over strong opponents. I was feeling really good about my game. Then the wheels fell off. Suddenly, I am not seeing my aiming point at all, and my confidence in in the 'crapper.'

Question:
What do you do to get yourself out of a slump?

My stroke feels good. The cue ball is going where I'm aiming it. I'm still regularly making straight shots and thin cuts. I am just not seeing my shots between about 20 & 75 degrees... very frustrating.

Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The biggest thing that's helped me get thru slumps is keeping a pool log. Days I'm shooting really good I will write down later what I was doing, then I keep a running list of "tips" for myself as well. When things go south I refer back and many times I'm back on track. I've got sections in my log titled such as "preshot routine" and bridge hand, etc ,just areas I've worked on over the years

I feel your frustration as I am in the same boat. Everyone will have an opinion and take what you will from each. Confidence is a killer for me right now. When I was shooting good I didn't have to question a shot. I knew instantly what I was going to do and got down and did it. Now I am readjusting and taking my time because I dont have confidence. I watch some videos on youtube and decided to give some ideas a try for once. Mainly working on my stroke. Finding kinks I didn't know I had. I have been going to a local pool hall and grabbing a 9 footer which I never play on. I simply set up the same stright shot over and over and over. I start with center english which actually showed me a lot. Some times the cue would roll forward or have spin on it. So even though I was aiming center I wasn't hitting center. I plan to keep doing drills. League can suck because most times you can't do drills because everyone is trying to practice.

Some people call a "hooker" a slump buster.
That is what I would do. Call yourself a nice hooker and problem solved...

^^^ no brainer imo...just make sure to bring the brown paper bag with scissors to cut the holes so she can breathe because they don't always supply their own.
