I like the basic idea. A couple of points about my own tastes. I don't like inlays with rounded edges. In the 1980's and 1990's, they were kind of acceptable, but I don't know anybody who wants those cues anymore. The other suggestion I would make would be to refine the look by using smaller inlays. The inlays look too wide for the points - I would make them smaller and sharp, which would give you a more refined look.

I would also like to see the reverse idea, ebony forearm, elm or olive burl points, and the same butt style.

The six point forearm is really nicely done by the way.

Oh. So if I put a Cadillac hub cap on one rear wheel I can advertise it as a 4 cylinder Cadillac?

ok let's clear this up. This is not a willy hoppe cue. This is a hoppe style butt with 1/4" ivory ring and 5/16 butt ring. So let's end this Thanks

??????????

Leon I think your work looks outstanding but I think Chris has given some excellent advice. Nice Cue!!!!!!!!!

Great cue...

I have owned three Sly cues so far (a ebony plain sneaky, a merry widow style with ivory joint and butt, and my current player a ebony/purpleheart fancy sneaky with silver ring work) and they all play awesome. I have a friend who reps his cues in my area and I get to see many of the awesome cues that come out of his shop up close, and this one like those does not dissapoint. Mega-props for a great cue maker.

Chris Tate hit the nail on the head. Round inlays IMO are not appealling to the eye and they definitely should be smaller. A true hoppe butt would have been nicer looking too again because of the rounded inlays.
