Small Tournament Dilema

I play pool in a small town and i usually match up with 1 or 2 of my friends , but every now and then we end up trying to do small tournaments with 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 up to 11-12 ppl max.
While it is relatively easy to do a 7 or 8 man tournament , single or double elimination (my friends don't like ring games, have tryed to run some, never catch on) , the problems appear when we try to run 9,10 up to 12 man tournaments without having some guys luck out and draw byes on the 16 player trny sheets, ending up having to much dead time.

Is there any form of tournament style with over 8 ppl and less then 16, is there any other form of matching up where we all play (not ringame).

Any help is apreciated, thx.

Round Robin.Everyone plays everyone else an equal number of games.RR works pretty good with friends.Do a RR with experienced tourney players and they will cut it up....
