Small US Open Field

Hopefully the economy and fuel prices won't hit the Open too hard, but I fear it may cause less players and less spectators this year.

The U.S. Economy is effecting EVERYTHING, just look at the Item For Sale on this very Forum! Great Cue sitting For Sale with NO Buyers, and seller have Fire SALES!

Spoke with one of my BEST Friends last Saturday who lives in Cincinnati Ohio, and has a Small business. He ask how the Arizona Economy was going, replied POOR. My buddy has how his Contracting Business was going strong last year at this time, (He does Specialty Concrete). He stats his Business, and the Cincinnati Ohio area is Worst than Hurting.

He told me last year at this time he was BOOKED out 8-9 Weeks, and his phones was busy. now he is working 2 days a week if lucky.

In Cincinnati Ohio many business are shutting down like there Big Lumber Yards, Car & Truck Dealers, etc., etc., etc.

So the poor turn out at the U.S. Open is part of the picture of the U.S. Economy, blame the people in Washington D.C. on both side of the isle who voted to loan TRILLIONS to Sub Prime Borrowers with Poor Credit, and nothing to loose if they walk away from Home, Auto, or Credit Card LOANS, etc.

How many other tournaments have any of us seen recently that have over 50 players sign up. And yes, every year the Open fills up at the last minute.- Bottom line is, I don't know where you could possibly go to see a larger event.

You may add two players to the list.Howard Gordon and Keith Brinton. I will also be in attendance.

Patience, it will fill and be the best it can be. Support cuesports any way you can, there are many people working behind the scenes to make these things happen. Support, Support, and more Support.
