Anyone used the Grizzly G0580 14"? There is one on CL here for $300, only been used a few times and in mint condition. Retail with shipping is around $470 new

I think Kreg sells a complete set of wheels and guides (check www.rockler.com). Might cost you more than what you payed for the bandsaw but it is worth every penny.

If I bought a new Grizzly G0555P would I have to upgrade it as soon as I get it?

First upgrade I would do if it doesn't come with is bearing guides instead of blocks.
Agreed on the no upgrades - the Polar Bear series has everything.
You said your shop is small, so if you will need to move it out to work with it, you would still need to get a mobile base - I doesn't come with one.

Beat me too my next recommendation.
Just spent most of a day fixing a very similar machine.
Basically rebuilding it, put a steel sleeve in the idle wheel ,where the ali had flogged out.
Made a new axle that fits the bearings and housing.
Also trued up the tire to the bearings.
Had to realign the main wheel to get the blade vertical for and aft.
Tighten up the side clearance on the top assembly, so it travels straight.
Then all the usual realign things.
Runs really well now.
But these things don't have the quality or rigidity of a DoAll. But they are cheap.
Lucky I had access to a large swing lathe to fix it.
