Sneaky Pete Cues

There are many good cue makers who can make a great SP. I have a new Varney that I am VERY happy with ( performance and aesthetics). I chose it because I could get a matching J/B and Kevin was do easy to deal with, but there are other great SP cue makers also.

"you pays your money and takes your choice!"

Keith Josey makes a great sneaky pete. It not only hits great.. the workmanship is like your getting a $ 1,200.00 cue. Fit and finish is excellent.

IIRC, I have read a few posts here and/or on BD forums in which Mark Bear states that his full splice cues, including sneakies, have sharp points both ways. The one in that auction has points that are squared at the bottom. What gives?

I can't comment on what you read, but I can say that I can't remember seeing a sneaky pete with sharp points on the bottom, all have been squared off like that.

I went back to read a few of those posts and I might be mistaken. Maybe he was referring only to full splice w/ veneers. Hopefully Mr. Bear will see this thread and clarify.

I'm thinking about buying a sneaky pete again. Azer's help. Who makes the best playing sneaky out their? I like a solid playing cue. Any suggestions. Thanks Wayne

There's lots to choose from, and - by reputation, many good ones. From what I've played with, you can't go wrong with:

Tim Scruggs (only used available now, Tim no longer makes them)
Bob Frey (who made many of the TS ones anyway)
