Sneaky Question

I just bought a Sneaky Pete that has had several modifications.

The butt is a Meucci, but the pin has been replaced with 3/8-10 pin and collar.

The shaft is a Tiger-X but there is something about it that may have been altered. The shaft has a fiber insert and I could not find that as a buying option on the Tiger site.

Here is a picture of the bottom of the shaft and the new pin.

The guy says that a cue maker did the work but I forgot to ask who, I'll find out tomorrow. Is this something easy to do?

As far as durability, the collar should help with that shouldn't it? And what about the fiber insert?

I picked it up for about what a new tiger -X shaft costs so I don't think I got hurt. It may just turn out to be a great hitting stick, in which case I got a great deal. :) :)

The shaft can be bought in blank form, and the cuemaker could easily made an phenolic insert, and put the black ring on it. Moochis are easy to remove the pin and replace them with a 3/8-10. Probably hits great...And should last a lifetime if done correctly...

Well I found out who did the work and needless to say, I am very pleased.

William (Woody) Woodworth did the work. He changed the joint pin, added the joint collars and matched the Tiger X Shaft to the butt.

Looking forward to getting it.
