sniper tip installation

Hi all,

I just have a question about tiger products sniper tips. Most of the layered tips I've received have a side that says glue on them or something but the sniper tips are black on one side and leather on the other. What side should I be installing onto the cue? and if its the black do I still need to sand it down like I would a non layered tip? Thanks

Sand down the black side. It also helps to moisten the side before trimming. You will see what I mean.

Sand the black side, just as you would a regular tip. The black coating is not very thick & if you'll just sand, til it's gone, you will have sanded enough. GLUE, HOLD TIGHT, TRIM, SHAPE & play...JER

Thanks guys, I've installed my first couple tips in the last few days and a threaded ferrule on my cue yesterday and they have all come out great
(well, after a couple practice tips that is :P )

Thanks for the info on the snipers

Hey Matt,
What are you using to do the installs?

I have a deluxe cuesmith I picked up on ebay, it was pretty much brand new. Its going good so far I already have orders to put on three moori's, a sniper, and two lepro's and I haven't told anyone I'm doing repairs yet. business is booming lol

Matt you are starting with one of the harder tips to install. Make sure your tools are as sharp as possible.

See you next week.

Matt,

I agree with Mase, you need to have really sharp tools...I also use a deluxe cuesmith and one of the first things I bought was carbide bits because they stay sharp longer...also I highly advise getting extra toolposts if you dont already have them...good luck

Mase I'm looking forward to it. You must be a busy guy according to all the stuff flying around here. I'm glad everything seems to be worked out as far as I know I just can't wait to get down there and play :)

Thanks for the help on the sniper tip I installed it this evening and it went on great. My friend's been shooting all day and he swears its the best tip he's ever played with so I'm happy anyway. I put on a sumo tip for the first time today as well. Man, they are hard, much more difficult to cut than any others I have installed. I pooched the first one I tried. Glad they are cheap, the second went on no problem.
