Snooker bends for my sport king

I have a 5x10 sport king snooker table (3 1/2 " pockets) and it has american type of pocket openings. Can I install "snooker bends" so the table is more a traditional snooker table? The rubber appears to be original and plays well.

snooker bends

You should be able to. If all of the ends of the rubber have seams in them, like the one pictured, that would make it easier on you .

I'm about to repair a 10x5 Gandy Snooker table, and have found many places on the web that sell snooker bends. Does your Sport King use a normal K66 cushions? All the cushions need replaced on my Gandy, might has well redo the snooker bends. 3.5" lead-in is quite large. My Gandy will have approx 3" lead-in's to make the table a bit more difficult. I don't play that much snooker, I'd rather play a snooker table game called golf.

I'm pretty addicted to the game, plus it is extremely challenging. I'm hoping the table and the game takes off in my Pool Hall.

cushions

I think my monarch cushions are k55,I think the bends are profiled to k66.... i just have to belt sand a little to get a nice matching profile, in the process pic below

Whats the difference between K55 & K66 cushions? I might have to research it a bit.. I want to make sure i have the right cushions for my gandy table. I'm going to take a guess at the difference, being 11mm lower to the table to accept snooker balls 2-1/16" ? 11mm is almost 7/16" of an inch though. I couldn't see it being that much different..

differences in k55-k66

I don't kno the differences, but the profile is close i understand.I had to belt sand the snooker ends to match the profile on my existing cushions(monarchs). finally finished today, and my wife hasn't killed me ! It took a long time (me being a virgin at this) but i am well pleased. Now I have to work on the game to get used to 3" pockets and 10 ft shots! After selling my dynamo slop table (7ft) this will be much more challenging.I would like to kno the rules to the game you call "golf" to play on my snooker table. Are the rules available online somewhere? thx for this forums help! here is a pics of my finished table pockets now below.

The point of the rail when playing snooker is between 1 5/16" to 1 11/32" of and inch because snooker balls are either 2 1/16" or 2 1/8" in size. In short, K55 profile rubber has a slightly larger base to it than k66 rubber. If your table last had k55, and you install k66 without changing the bevel of the rails, your point of contact is going to be 1/8" of an inch higher than the needed 1 7/16" of an inch for good play and your rails are going to play dead. In other words, your rail point is going to be about 1 9/16" of an inch high. If you last had k66 rubber on your table, and you install k55 without changing the bevel of the rail, your rail height is now going to be around 1 5/16" of an inch high, and your rails will play like a pinball machine.

Did that answer your question?
