It's a bit of a trek for you, but the best snooker in Chicago is ACES Snooker Club in northwest suburb of Crystal Lake. You can find the website easily by Googling "snooker in Chicago" and see the equipment in action. Club activity has been slow over the summer but will be picking up in the fall with the cool weather. First tournament of the snooker season will be in October, the ACES Masters, then the snooker league will be running from November through about April or May. Oh, and something else that may interest you....well behaved dogs are always welcome.
