Customer wants a Shaft made for snooker...I need recommendations from Snooker Players. Length - Diameter - Ferrule Material - Tip. Any help is appreciated, also this is for a Predator Cue, and he does not want a new cue, just the shaft. Jim

I would make the shaft the same length as the butt. Snooker players today play with a slightly larger tip than they used to. I would make it 10 to 10.5 mm. Most snooker players are used to a softer hit and the usual tip and ferrule combination is a elkmaster tip with a fibre ferrule. I usually make a straight taper for the shaft. That is, the taper from the joint to the tip is constant but if it is a .840 joint you may have to take a little extra wood out or the shaft will be too thick. My snooker cues are .785 at the joint and taper to 10.5 at the tip.
