Questions;

#1). If you make an object ball on the break is there a penalty equal to the number of the object ball? What if you make a red ball and an object ball?

#2). I know you can legally slop a red ball in, but when shooting a object ball is it required you call the pocket your aiming for or just the ball your shooting at?

#3). When committing a foul is the penalty 4 pts or 7 pts. As I understand it when shooting a object ball and missing the intended ball and contacting a different object ball you occur the number penalty of that ball. But I'm talking about all other fouls.

#4). If you scratch on the last ball ( 7 ball ) do you lose as you would in 8 ball. I ask this because we have two groups of people we play with and their rules differ greatly which is confusing us ( my wife and me ).

pink 6, black 7

2. Only delare the colour.
Flukes Count :D Better to be lucky than smart :D

3. Inadvertenlty potting the blue - 5; pink - 6; black 7 point penalty

Inadvertenly potting cue ball, yellow, green, brown - 4 point penalty

Missing yellow, green, brown - 4 point penalty
Missing blue - 5 point penalty
Missing pink - 6 point penalty
Missing black - 7 pomt penalty

If you missed the blue and hit the black - 7 point penalty

4. End of Frame, Game or Match

(a) When Black is the only object ball remaining on the table, the first score or foul ends the frame excepting only if the following conditions both apply:
(i) the scores are then equal; and
(ii) aggregate scores are not relevant.
(b) When both conditions in (a) above apply:
(i) the Black is spotted;
(ii) the players draw lots for choice of playing next;
(iii) the next player plays from in-hand; and
(iv) the next score or foul ends the frame.

(c) When aggregate scores determine the winner of a game or match, and the aggregate scores are equal at the end of the last frame, the players in that frame shall follow the procedure for a re-spotted Black set out in (b) above.

Penalties are funny and confusing sometimes. When I was playing with my pool buddies they thought I was making this stuff up. :rolleyes:

Thank you for taking the time to give a detailed answer. It's very appreciated.
