snooker shaft

I play with a Predator cue. I have played on & off for nigh on 40 years. Many years ago I played a few games of golf on a 12' snooker table. Other than that I never touched them. Recently I returned to pool. One of my friends asked me to play snooker. I literally did not know how to play or keep score. To my surprise I played rather well. I did not find the transition difficult. I enjoyed pocketing balls, playing position, moving the cueball & the stratigies of the game. I also enjoyed simply playing on a very different type table. These were 10' snooker tables.

I was playing with my Predator with it's normal 314 pool shaft. Here's my question to my fellow AZBers. Does Predator make a snooker shaft that would compliment my current cue w/o drastically changing the feel of the cue. There would obviously be some difference, that's to be expected as long as it is not overly pronounced.

What other options are available on snooker shafts to couple with my Predator cue. Your imput would be greatly appreciated.

Much Oblidged Folks, ;)

predator has been working on a snooker cue, but it has never been released and i'm not sure if there are any definite plans to bring it to market, or if the project has been shelved.

you could get a shaft for snooker made to fit your cue, but if you want to get serious about snooker, i would get a dedicated snooker cue, they're quite different than pool cues.

i haven't really heard of any low deflection snooker cues though. there is one called acuerate, but it's really a marketing gimmick, it doesn't work well. i don't think they really understand how to design a LD shaft. there's a few others that reduce deflection a little by swapping out the brass ferrule for a lighter material, but it's not like the reduction you'd get with a hollow shaft like predator.

I have an actual snooker cue, made by Mike Wooldridge, who is in the top 3 snooker cue builders in the UK. Its a beautiful, but simple 3/4 design and feels great, however, A couple months ago I ran across a deal on an OB2 shaft, which is quite small, that fits my Schon cue for pool, so I tried it at my next weekly snooker night, and found I can get quite a bit more action on the cueball than I dare try with my snooker cue, and I've been using it every since. I can't speak for the predators, but I like my OB2 for snooker.
