What brands are most common ?
recommend any sites for purchase?

I guess I'm wrong. It looks like pool dawg and Seyberts do sell Snooker cues that are two piece. I didn't see any options on their sites for just shafts. Snooker cues are usually made of Ash and are in the 10.5mm range. I did see McDermott's joint is 3/8x10 so i would think you could get a shaft since thats a common pool joint. I'm not sure where you are at. I don't think you will find things like that in a USA site.

Most of the top pros use one-piece cues. The jointed cues on the tour are all or mostly "3/4 butt" which means the shaft is about 2/3 of the length of the cue -- the joint is way back. Did you want a shaft for your pool cue?

Probably going to be a custom then. Ash wood, brass 10mm ferrule. Or, you could just have an old shaft turned down and a short ferrule (carom style) installed.
