So many pro's using SS joint

omar makes a valid point....................lol. I think it is how well the cue is made. I think the joint is only a part of the formula that makes a cue "hit' or "feel" good. I dont care what type of joint it is as long as there are no "tinks" or 'rattles'...........

"the same as any other joint" ---- this is the NOT part I am talking about. Come on Rich, you have probably been in Scrugg's shop a thousand times. Even Tim will tell you that the SS joints give more weight to the front of the cue. And Tim will tell you that the weight of the woods (in the shaft and the butt) will change to balance point. Etc Etc Etc All I am pointly out is that your statement is completely erroneous, down to the letters.

No where in my original post did I say anything about the weight of the SS joint, nor did I mention anything about balance points.
You seem to be disagreeing with points that you have brought up, not points from my post.

Now to answer your post:
I have been in Tim's shop, but I have not been there any where near a "thousand times".
I do not dispute that the weight of SS joints have to be considered.
I also do not dispute that the weight of the woods has to be considered.
However, I never brought these points up, so how can you point out that my statement "is completely erroneous, down to the letters"?

BTW, although it was not said to me personally, it was Tim who said that the type of joint doesn't matter, as long as it is done correctly. If you want to dispute a statement made by one of the best cue makers in the world, feel free. I trust Tim and I believe his statement to be very true.
