Due to extensive shoulder surgery, hitting hard is no longer an option. What are the best ways to soft break without leaving an advantage to your opponent?

Breaking

If you break from the right rail, 2nd diamond, cross over the head ball with high right english (will go 2 rails) and come up behind the rack. You might leave a shot in 8 ball, but this break in 9 ball will have your opponent pushing out or kicking for the 1 ball.

I had a shoulder replacement in 2001 and I feel your pain. I break with a heavier cue at a slower speed and break pretty well. I am breaking at about 70%. My thoughts are what would hurt worse a train hitting you at 10 mph or a bug at 100 mph? Hard to count out kinetic energy. Just my 2cents
