I have been known to be wrong lol and if it’s a pill bumper from 1980 you may just be correct! Either way beautiful cue and yes the 84-8 is the same cue just no pill bumper.

Thanks, the refinish came out very nice. As for the pill bumper, mine disintegrated years ago and I could never find a replacement. I have the flat style bumper on it. I really wasn't a fan of those old bumpers and from my recollection neither was Bob Meucci or Mike Erwin thus resulting in the change in the 84 Series.

Yes, I totally understand they look cool but when guys would hit the cue down hard on the floor it would expand and crack the butt Cap so he switched later to the better flat bumper like you said! Very cool

I have an offer to split up the shafts and sell one separate. I am bumping this Meucci Original one last time to offer the opportunity to get this 4 decade old beautiful Meucci with all 3 shafts. If no one is interested I'll sell a shaft from the set and try my luck on Facebook Marketplace.

Price reduced $1250 w/all 3 MO shafts. The shafts alone are worth $600.

Whether you think it's a 80-6 (Pill bumper) or an 84-8 (Flat bumper), I personally know the history of the cue and have no problem backing up it's age. It's a great cue from the early Meucci days (Mike Erwin era) professionally refinished by his son Scott.

84 series was also pill bumper, and flat. Was told by Meucci that the 80s and 84s that look the same with pill bumpers are the same cue, they just carried some of the 80s over to the 84s.

DH and few others came in pill bumper as well.
