Sold My Harley-Davidson, So......

All these well intended cue maker suggestions are totally irrelevant.

I'm on his ignore list, so perhaps someone could ask him what he's seeking that his 9 previous cues have all failed to provide?
Maybe then there's a chance, albeit a slim one, that he'll understand that he must play with a cue beforehand. Any other approach is meaningless.

I don't think I can stand to read the plethora of threads that will inevitably come along once he magically, mysteriously and second handedly determines a cue maker. E.g. Which shaft, what diameter, which tip, which wood, which joint, what ferrule material, which weight, which grip, ad infinitem...:smash:

Has any of this been helpful. You always start these threads looking for assistance and never follow up after it has been offered to you.

Very sound advice when you are looking to purchase your next cue from the secondary resale market.
Unfortunately, this approach doesn't work if the cue you are going to have made hasn't been built yet.

You can test play a different cue made by the cue-maker you are thinking of using to build your cue.
However, unless that cue was built to your specs like my customs were made, the test is still a gamble.

If you you get around to having a custom cue built, make sure you know what you want for your cue.
Get the specs dialed in & you don't have to test play a cue since you already know what works best.

That is the true advantage of having a custom cue built and so the cue-maker doesn't rely upon sticking
a 3/4 - 1 oz. weight bolt in the butt of your cue so that the weight you specifically ordered gets delivered.

It's just that any one of his current cues will outplay him ten times over. He's a hack like me. Whether he buys or not; he's merely seeking out attention. This same old song n' dance just gets old really fast. Apparently you missed the cloth color discussions and the lighting questions, and the....

Supposedly he's ordering a Joss whose purchase went thru this same malarkey. Doesn't even have the Joss yet, and he's beating us over the head with another lame ass thread.

I've given up on giving a pertinent response, and now just view these never ending threads as pure entertainment.

Guess you never read the entire thread, huh.
Well all you did was say thanks and you might buy a porsche... basically a response in the style that I would expect from you when you create a thread asking a question.

People took their time, myself included, with good responses. People have done that for you in the past as well... other then the "thanks" on page 3 of the 5 page thread we have no idea how much of a waste of time and effort it was...

Not to mention, this is a topic easily solvable by your damned self since you have been here for years. You just once again want the easy road...

...and you wonder why you get the responses you do...

Maybe it's because I'm a much better and more serious motorcycle rider than I am a pool player but I think Icon is right.

I will never buy another cue without a test drive at SBE first. I would never sell one of my bikes for a player cue. But then this is easy to say. I know what my priorities are.

Jumping about from bikes to cues to cars will not lead to skill in any subject.

Look, folks, I never - NEVER - said I sold my Harley-Davidson in order to buy a real nice pool cue.

What is your ETA for the Joss handmade custom you ordered?

I'd call Dean up and talk to him about a case to put your new cues in. You will be getting a good one.....whichever you may choose.

You could buy Jake Hulsey's Diamond table and get a free cue out of the deal. Sell your table and get his plus a cue from him. If I was closer and had that much extra cash I would be all over that.
