Solid Leather Tips

Thanks to all of you guys. Sounds like I'll be a Triumph man also.

Not saying to "not" use triangle or triumph...

But:

I am saying use the lepro for a while unpressed. Then try a slightly pressed lepro. Then try a unpressed triangle and then pressed triangle.

Then decide what tip you like.

NEVER use anything "just because someone else does". If you do, you will most likely never find what truly works best for "you".

I don’t even want to start to comment on that.

That's quite ok.I also use cheap gas in expensive cars and eat cheap steak. :killingme::killingme: Seriously I needed to replace the tip and had a Triangle on hand. There is nothing negative about it. When the Triangle on the REVO wears out I'm going back to Predator Victory Soft Tips. As for the Triange on the REVO I would challenge anyone to take the Blindfold test and see if the can tell the difference. I don't gamble but I'd bet on this one.

The guy who was one of the best player in AZ years ago was asked about his Tip by me. His reply was Le-Pro. Indian v/s Arrow. But I understand he now use a layed tip.

He won be assure of his skill, not his equiptment. His arrow was a Merry Widow MC Dermott.

Best tip I've found is an Elkmaster pressed to around 85a durometer.
Basically just hand tighten a vice firmly and leave it overnight.
Don't even need the milk; though the milk duds really are the best tips on the planet for the dough.
Has a better ping than most Triangle tips, but grabs the ball like magic.
Really hard to miscue with a pressed Elkmaster or milk dud.

The old Le Pros were amazing. Not sure what they changed.
Allot of people complain about the newer generation of triangles too.
Cue repair friend's have told me about Triangles exploding into fluff under the trimming blade on the lathe.

I recently knocked a chunk off a Triangle tip on a long power draw shot using a stock Falcon cue.
A buddy was convinced the cue was the reason he couldn't draw the ball more than a couple diamonds.
I proved him wrong but took a chunk off his tip in the process. Lol!

agree with Franky4 -- i just put an Elkmaster in a spare vise for a coupla weeks, plays waaaaaay better than all the layered tips i've tried. grabs the cue ball like it's never gonna let go, feels great even on long draw shots jacked up on the rail.

i've heard that this guy Cesar Morales uses them, and he's done ok, too.

wicked expensive, but worth it! ;)

Now that is a very interesting situation. I don’t even want to start to comment on that.

My Doc Frye with ivory ferrules have Lepro's on both shafts. As for myself I play the same (lousy-inconsistent) regardless of tip.
