If you play the 8ball men's open singles can you then also play the 8ball open scotch doubles or do you have to choose between the 2 ?
And what is the difference between 9ball open singles and 9ball challenge ?
I'm going to make my dream come true by coming to Las Vegas for the first time and combining this with the BCA national championships
Coming from Belgium ( Europe ) i totally don't know how i can enter the tournament but i have got plenty of time to figure everything out .

Yes, you can play in both the Open 8ball and Open Scotch. The Scotch starts a day or 2 before the Singles, so no conflict with scheduling.
9ball Open is for regular players and the 9ball Challenge is for Pro or Semi Pro players. Mitch Ellerman won it for 2012.

The nine ball Open is for players not considered Grand Master, Master or Advanced as shown on the BCAPL website. If you have any questions as to your player status, contact Bill Stock at bill@playcsipool.com. BCAPL has a "known ability" clause. Possible you may not be considered an Open player. The event is a race to five. Best two sets out of three. SINGLE elimination.

The Nine Ball Challenge is open to ANYONE. You might find one or two of the pro players in Vegas for the US Open events entered. Race to seven. DOUBLE elimination.

Mixed scotch doubles is divided into several catagories. If you and your partner are deemed to be Open players and are qualified in a BCAPL league, you may play in the Open. If you're not qualified, I believe you must play in the Master event if at all. Again, check with Bill Stock. Scotch events started Thursday evening last year.

Open eight ball singles begins on Saturday. The tournament operator tries very hard to not have both singles and scotch events run at the same time. Might have a problem on Monday or Tuesday. Sorry to repeat this again. Contact Bill to be sure you will be able to play in the Open. The "known ability" clause or lack of statistics may bite you.

You will find this event is one of the best run you will ever play in. Not sure of your match time? Check the numerous computer screens around the tournament control area or the event website. Lots of helpful people. There may be several thousand entrants but BCAPL / CSI / Bad Boys will make you feel welcome. Hope to meet you there.
