what did you pay for those

Considering how bad I play pool. Considering how little I play pool. I paid a lot. Ive bought a lot of cues from Dave Jacoby so he treated me fairly. The Amboyna cue retails for $2400 and the Holly/ Malachite/ Stacked leather retails for $1850. I have added Predator shafts to that. I forgot the Black and Red one at the top is mine also. It retails for $1395 I think. Or Maybe $1495. Somewhere around there. Jim Buss is supposed to make one for me.....whenever I get one designed in my head. SO that will be next.

All I can say is to remember that its not the cue that makes the player. I would have recommended waiting until you hit a speed you are confident with before buying expensive cues. I wish you luck and I hope they work great for you!

ya dont necessarly have to be good to own nice cues.. how many collectors are on this forum that never even play pool.. i myslef arent that good and i have several expensive cues like my mottey... but its what i like and what i wanted to spend my money on.. but everybody has their opinion and this was mine..

Thank you Chris. I totally agree. As a pool room owner that works 60-75 hours a week, I dont really have as much spare time to play pool as I would like. I never had any great desire to be a GREAT player. I've been watching pool players in my room for about 35 years now. Honestly I didn't see how it was worth the effort. If I lined up the best players in Saint Louis next to their cues, you would see they dont really match up in terms of high quality or $$$ cues means high quality players. I know kids with expensive cues that can't run 2 balls and top notch players that cant afford a $1.00 cue rental half the time. One of my regulars has a $1800 custom cue one month and a $200 import a month later. He still plays the same. I buy cues based on design, materials, and recognizing quality work. I have 4 cues I have never played a game with. I just liked them. I just don't ever use them to actually beat anyone. I just like to have fun. :)

That bottom cue has the curliest maple I've ever seen ;). What do people say when they see that?

Nice cues, since you are clearly overstocked on Jacoby cues, I'd be glad to help you out and trade a nice Crest for one of them.:)

I'm still playing with a Schon I got from Chris at your place a few months ago, very nice cue.

They say "Is that a Stealth cue?"

Not a Stealth Dooley handle. Its a Jacoby. It hits great, just not for everyone with that grip. Dave made it for a regular customer of his and then the customer changed his mind on the joint or something so he offered it to me.

Everyone makes fun of those Stealth cues, but I sell a lot of them. Hot Pink is a big color right now with guys and girls. Go figure.

ya know.. ppl knock those shaped handles.. i picked on up at Valley Forge.. not bought one.,. but picked it up... it feels pretty cool in the hands being shaped like that.. i dunno if i like them.. but they felt good just griping it like a normal cue.. i guess its all in personal opinion.. but then again.. i better practice more and make my game better so i can get me a better cue like that.. if i buy now.. i might be making a bad choice..lol..
