I found out recently that my table once belonged to a hall of fame player named Squirrel. The table was won in a pool game in St. Louis by the owner of Lambert's in Baton Rouge. Does anybody know anything about the match or who squirell was matched up against? Or can anybody tell me anything about Squirrel? It's pretty cool to have a table with some history.

haha crap, Squirrel is one of the best one pocket players ever I beleive according to many an old timer, I've seen pictures of him and read alot about him, that awesome

It wouldn't hurt to get that documented. You never know if it might come in handy in years to come. Nice find.

Seen Squirrel two weeks ago

Marshall "Squirrel" Carpenter was the best money player in the world for several years from the 50s thru the 70s and still plays real well at age 79. I know the table you're talking about, it's a great table, I've bet thousands on it myself. Marshall is back in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and is a great guy.

Wow! I feel lucky to have found it. Any details on the match? Who was Squirrel playing?

Squirrel was inducted into the One Pocket Hall of Fame in January 2006. His HOF page on OnePOcket.org is here: http://onepocket.org/CarpenterHOF.htm

He is still alive and well and has been to the last couple of Derby City Classic events.

Squirrel

Not sure, I remember back when he was in Baton Rouge. He was wanting us to bring the table to him. Its a Kim Steel, and I remember playing on it. I think he was playing either FLYBOY or might have been Mex Joe...Dont remember...
Ill ask him when I see him...
