Sometimes a break is good.

I took some time off from the game recently but I'm back to playing. I have to say I beleive it did me some good. I guess I dropped some bad habits. My stroke for the most part feels on the dime. Anytime its not I know what I did wrong. I'm thinking clearly. I'm having some trouble with my break but I know I can get that working. I don't feel I'm playing my best but I feel like I have another gear that I didn't have before. I play mostly on the bar box. But, the other night I was playing run out pool on the 9 fts where I wasn't doing before my time off. Anyway it feels good to be playing and I'm gonna try and get out and play some tournaments and see how I do with some preasure on me. Feels good play no matter what. Sometimes I guess you get burnt out and never really realize it if that makes any sense.

I'm about to do the same thing. Just lately, I've been shooting HORRID - miscueing on easy shots, shanking stupid easy 8-ball shots, etc.

Seeing as I'm getting ready to move cross-country in about three weeks, I figure I'll be busy enough getting my stuff packed etc. - so it's an ideal time to take a cold-turkey break 'til after I get moved and settled.

Though I do intend to play in one last tournament on Saturday, just 'cuz. :P

Sometimes your brain just needs a rest. I guess you can say to much of a good thing is bad in pool also. I've read where its sugested to take a break. Its a good way to get over slumps too. Sometimes your mind just gets in the way and sometimes it goes away.
