I know Karl very well, great guy. The rest of the MR staff I knew aren’t there anymore. Idk if Emily knows me. I’d like to meet her, she’s done lots of great things for pool and she has my respect. I think the purple 5 was a mistake and that’s ok, hell I’ve made a million mistakes. Nothing that can’t be fixed next season. It should be corrected.

That’s not the reason I’d like to know her, anyone who is doing good stuff for pool, I’m interested in meeting.

I’m very happy MR is doing what they are doing, as long as players are paid and treated with respect.

I have a friend a poker player who is color blind and he can’t tell red from green. $5 & $25 chips look the same to him. I feel bad for people who are color blind all joking aside.

Matchroom in general sucks, but she takes the cake.

They are gonna be the death of pro pool as we once knew it.
 
I know it's been stated many times, but since matchroom clearly doesn't know.... here goes again:

With HD we don't need special color anything as spectators.

They people at the table are what matters and if they play shape on the purple ball thinking it's the 4..... well, that's a problem.

Go back to the traditional colors and be done with it.

While your at it, go back to green cloth.

Having said that, I'm glad pocket standards are being discussed. That in itself would fix some long standing issues in pool. Thing is, 99% of the public rooms aren't going to spend money changing tables or even just the tops.

So, even if there is a standard for tables in the future, I doubt us amateurs will see it in our rooms for a long time after the fact.

I still don't understand why the changed the 4 ball color to pink when they could have left it alone and changed the 5 to pink and left the 4 ball purple even if they had to change the 4 to a different purple.

Basically the same as a cat piss-marking its territory. MR (read 'Emily') wanted to be different and they DOGGED IT pure and simple.
 
Is tan the new grey or are MR's cameras fk'd up? Today's UK Open stream the cloth cloth looks tan and not grey. WTF??? Can these idiots not get anything right when it comes to cloth/balls???

In your personal opinion that is. Myself, the minor changes they've made does not affect my life in any way. I don't fret the little things anymore. All that does is make you old fast. If there's someone out there they can do it better than Matchroom, compete with them and see what happens. Competition is a good thing.. especially in billiards. If that's not true you'll just be spending all your time at a corner table playing with yourself.

Other than the fact I do like the gray cloth. It's more visually appealing and gives excellent contrast between the cloth and the balls on small screen devices. Which by the way is how I watch most of my matches.... when I have time between jobs at work.

Not just mine but that of all those who have told her personally or via social-media. MR gets HAMMERED for these balls every hour of every day. I'm sure they're sick of it but who gives a rat's-ass. They dogged it and they know it and don't have the cajones to admit it and change.

Again it affects my life and no way. I don't know why you think this is such a big deal. If you or anyone else out there could do it better then Matchroom, by all means do so. Either put up or shut up.

Sorry if that sounded crude, but that's why they call me buckshot. I'm sometimes crude and messy, but I effectively get the job done.

I specialize in crude so feel free to fire away. I think MR is generally doing a good job for pool but their absolute arrogance that they can do no wrong is off-putting to say the least. They chose them to be different. Has nothing to do with ease of visibility, big or small screen. I've watched matches with both these and traditional colors on both phone-sized and full-sized screens. Those MR turds are no easier to see.

Now thats the spirit! Pool is why we are all here!! :) I dont drink anymore, 10 years now. I especially do not like the out come of me on that particular Whiskey(Bourbon) . I liked the Irish Whiskey when I did drink, corn vs malt. Irish stuff was much smoother. :)

I asked her if she’d like it if I paid my tab in counterfeit money.

MR, with the same amount of effort, could’ve come up with a set of balls I want to buy, instead of one I wouldn’t accept as a gift.

Again the color of the five ball has no practical effect on how I live my life. It has no practical effect on how I play the game. I'm not going to stress out over it.

You have to remember this match room is not a billiard business. Match room is in Show Business. They have to do what they see fit to gain viewers. And like it or not, I believe they actually are doing that. So suck it up buttercup. Live and Let Live.
Or just don't watch any of their Productions.

Don't like their format? Create a competing format. Let the winner take all.
