A few years ago, I sent my pacifier SW to Sw shpo, and ask them to do urethane refinishment.
Laurie's answer was NO, quite simple and clear.
This is exactly what she told me.
"It is important for us to distinguish a Satin Finish cue from our regular production cue. That is why we do not put a urethane finish on them. We do not want people to sell them as first quality cues. We can strip the finish off of your cue but we will replace it with the original oil finish only."
It seems to me that this cue was refinished with urethane by someone at somewhere outside SW shop.
LOA from Laurie says nothing about urethane refinishment.

That cue is 100% original and all SW. I showed that cue to the original owner about two months ago and he verified that. He also gave me a copy of the original receipt for that cue which I still owe you. When I get back from vacation, I will be sure to mail it to you.
The original owner is a prominent collecotor who lives in So Cal. He was thinning his collection and sold it to the guy I got it from. The second owner had SW make the second shaft and write up the LOA.
I hope this clears things up a little.
