Special/Reserved Tables?

Special Tables

to those of you who replied, thanks. It seesm that the majority feel it is the room owner's choice, I agree. It is also the players choice where he wants to spend his time and money after 12 years maybe it is time to find a new place to play. The particular instance I was fuming about was a gentlemen who was "privelaged" to the point of flat out abusing the equipment and again you are right it is the owners choice. To answer a earlier question I have since played the abuser in a tournament and he did win but it was a hill, hill race. I really appreciate the game and it just seemed to me the actions that are becoming routine are of no benefit to the anyone especially the room owner.

Definitely up to the room owner if he wants to keep a table or two reserved....
Here's a scenario for you, the place I play has two decent tables...a twelve foot snooker table and one nine foot Gold Crown. The remaining 10 or so 8ft tables are in shambles, dead rails, slow cloth, etc.... It burns my chaps to get there and see 10 or more recreational shooters, there to get drunk, spilling beer and smoking over the cloth...slamming balls to impress the ladies, etc...on the one decent table in the place. Selfish? Probably...but I think my interests along with the "players that care" stands above those who don't... We know how to take care of that table, are there to learn, and watch over that table so that we can enjoy it and try to improve our game.

Some halls also keep a cover on a table or two for the local gamblers... I'm sure the house gets a cut, and that's probably in their best interests as well.

JMHO on the matter
