I have a 80's pool cue with spliced points not CNC. The 4 points do not match up in length. They are not even all the way around the forearm. They are very sharp though. Is it acceptable for splced points not to be the exact same size in length ? What is an acceptable difference in spliced points? Please educate me on spliced points.

We have become accustomed to everything being very even now, but on many of the cues made back then, where the splice was actually a joint, it was a lot more difficult for cue makers to line the points up.

It depends on the cue, but it can definitely hurt the re-sale to have points that are quite a bit different in length.
