Hi guys. I'm visiting LA after Christmas and wondered if there are any places to play in town? I'm staying in Beverly Hills, but happy to travel a bit. To put it in to perspective I'm from the UK and was amazed by the pool scene in NYC with places like Steinway and Amsterdam etc. Is the scene in LA similiar? thanks for any help

House of Billiards in Santa Monica isn't too far away from you. Hard Times is a must-see, but unless you have a car, it's pretty far away.

As mentioned, HOB Santa Monica and Hard Times are going to be it. Sadly, the cost of real estate and electricity in So Cal is diminishing the number of pool rooms. I would say you will not have the same experience in LA as you did in NYC.

How far you wanna drive?? Take a couple days and hit Vegas. Griffs, Mickey's, LVCueClub, GoodTimez are all open there. Beach is way over-rated, just skip L.A. and go straight to Vegas. ;)
