I'd like to put some minimalist snooker spots on my new Simonis 860. Ideally I'd like to use the same method you see used on the snooker tables in the World Snooker Championship. Looks like a small white plus sign or cross. Anyone knows exactly how what they use for marking the spots?

Here's what I use on pool tables: https://www.google.com/webhp?q=bohin+chalk+pencil

If you visit your local fabric/dressmaker's shop, you can probably find other choices. "Tailor's chalk" may also get you results.

If you use the pencil to mark your table, and use the X-1 to clean it, your markings will disappear very quickly.
Suggest using a Sharpie.
