Has anyone have any information about silicon spray for a table. I was watching a video and before the snooker match they used this. What kind do they use? Will it hurt a certain kind of felt? Does it give you good results?

Silicone is used to get the balls to slide and lengthen the angles similar to new cloth. It shouldn't be used on new cloth. If the angles are short because of worn cloth out then this will help.

If you're talking about a home table then simply be meticulous keeping it clean and you won't need to do this for well over a year. Also keep the balls like new helps maintain proper angles.

If you need to use silicone I'd recommend General Purpose NOT Heavy Duty which is usually what you find at say Wal Mart. It hard to find lower concentrations.

Draw backs is silicone will attract and hold dirt chalk..........

Here's what I do. First Vacuum then with a slightly damp (water) cloth lightly stroke the cloth clean. Do not scrub like you're cleaning the floor. Then on a clean side of the damp cloth Spray your silicone maybe 3 seconds, then very lightly drag this over the bed. Leave the rails alone at least at first. The balls will pick up and transfer it to the rails.

Another method is furnature polish. Spray it in the air in short bursts and let droplets fall on the table. Same dirt draw back here.

If you get too much on come back with a damp cloth. This will help some but not a total cure. You'll just have to play a lot and keep wiping the table down to get rid of the excess.

Hope this helps.
