Squaring Point Wood

Featherboards and other home made holding devices are necessary if you want to keep all your fingers for a life time working around machines. I am a fanatic about safety. I have been messing with machines of all kinds for over fifty years. My father was retired before I was born and we had a complete 1200 sq ft. shop, both machine and wood working, on the property. I learned from an early age about making jigs and various devises for safety. It just takes one mistake to get hurt bad. I believe Dennis Searing cut off a finger some time back. There is no need to be afraid of machines just respect what they can do and use your head. I never like anyone around me when I am working for their safety and mine.
