I'm interested in purchasing a new pool cue, one with a stainless steel radial pin into a wooden shaft. I've only owned one other cue which had the original Uniloc with the brass insert, so I'm not very experienced with other joints.
I was worried about the wooden threads deteriorating over time for whatever reason. Do radial joints need any special care because of the wood joints? Should I do something, maybe with wax, to preserve the wood threads or will it need any special attention due to the potential swelling in the wood?
