SS360/2 vs OB Classic + ?

Can anyone give an honest comparison of these two shafts? The SS360/2 has me intrigued and can't find anything bad about it, but would like to hear some comparisons before ordering.

I had a 314-2 and hated it. I've been using a Classic + for over a year and love it. I would say it is a feel thing more than anything.

How does the Classic + compare to the SS360/2? Both are 12.75 and sounds like virtually the same 'pro' taper so it comes down to feel, hit, sound, deflection, etc. If anyone has or has tried both please chime in.

I have owned both SS360'2 and OB classic+ shafts and in my opinion the SS360 is far superior of the two. Better wood and build quality for sure and to me it played better  It was a little roughly finished when I received the shaft from Seyberts but after touching it up a bit and a decent burnish it was a decent playing shaft.

E: Here is a link to a review I wrote on the 360: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=427294

I've had both the OB and the 360 and I find the 360 a better product.
That being said I - personally!!! - find the new Predator 314-3 to be faaar superior to either of those two.
I know you didn't ask about it but I just wanted to tell you so you knew coming from someone who's had several of all of those shafts in question.
That new 314 is one sweet hitting shaft. At least the one I got, and it's nothing special. Just a radial joint.
It feels like a Pre-Cat or a first gen 314 with all the latest deflection stuff.
I've changed tips on mine once and I had exactly zero problems with the pad under the tip.
To Me!!!!! they really hit it out of the park with this new 314.
A few generations from now people will still be asking if anyone has a gen 3 for sale.
Yes they will...

^ Since 9ballr brought the 314'3 up I must say that I agree with him. The 3rd gen 314 is a really good shaft and I have changed to using them exclusively lately. Got 3 of them, 2 stock at 12.75 and one 12.5mm that I customised to further match my preferred specifications with the taper and Tomahawk ferrule :o Much better shaft than the 2nd gen was.
Try one if you can before making a decision on what to buy.

Shaft

I had Bob D. Custom build me a 360/2 12.80mm and had a OB clsassic + XL 13.25mm
I would have to go with the 360. cleaner and crisper hit played more like a traditional
Shaft -
(both excellent products)
Bottom line - you are right it's how it feels for you, try and test hit them if you can.

Good luck.

I own both and as mentioned above, Bob's shafts are far superior in regards to quality of wood and build. But the difference in the way they play is subjective, the OB's are lower deflection imo, both have a nice sound and hit, Bob's seem to be slightly louder(I believe they are hollow all the way through.)

Both have great warrantee's, both are made in America, both are reasonably priced. I don't think you could go wrong with either, if I were you I'd try and find a OB and SS360 to hit with a bit and see how you like it.

If that's not an option...what kind of shaft are you currently playing with?

I'm surprised everyone is saying the 360 has a hit more like maple than the Classic +. That is pretty much why I liked it night and day over the 314-2.

I have not hit with a 314-3, but honestly have no desire to go back to them no matter how nice they might hit.

What I would really like to know is how does the deflection compare between the 360/2 and a Classic Plus? More squirt, less squirt, etc.?

Thought I had this in my OP - have had a Classic + for a year and a half or so.

My mistake, I initially read it as cuetec, then spaced out what I had misread.

If you love the Classic+ I'd stick with it, unless you're having that urge to buy a new shaft, in which case I'd say the SS360 is my first recommendation. Hard tellin which one you'll like better. Good luck

Thanks. I love the Classic + and it is the best shaft I have used to date (have tried quite a few lds in the past). Of course if deflection on the 360/2 is pretty much the same yet has that better 'feel'... This sounds like the only way I'll know is trying one and not sure I'm ready to order only to sell for less money a week or two later. Decisions haha.

All of the replies have helped though and are the opinions I was looking for.

I've had both. Not much difference. SS 360 can be difficult to buy, smaller production. So if you need a replacement shaft quickly you could be out of luck.
I thought the SS 360 had a slightly more "solid" hit. Both pocket balls the same as far as I could tell.
For what it's worth ( almost zip :-) ) I am using the OB+

Yeah they are out of stock. I emailed Bob and I believe he said something like 4+ weeks to get one if I remember right. Don't quote me on that though. I would need it custom done to match joint diameter.
