ss360 shaft vs OB2, any opinions on the ss360?

I'm going to have a Bob Danielson cue made and just was wondering about the differences from my OB2 which I absolutely love compared to his shafts.


Anyone switch from one to the other at all?


I think the thing I love the most about the OB2 besides the ultra low deflection is the taper and how easily it flows in a closed bridge.

Any opinions on the matter are greatly appreciated.

Have you tried one of Bobs shafts yet? I was lucky enough to shoot with a thicker one at a pool hall after I ordered from Bob and that solidified that I had made the BEST DECISION in a shaft for my cue.

The ss360 is made to YOUR preference. I opted mine at a skinnier 12.5 mm. The taper is up to you too. The tip, joint configuration, joint decoration and all of it is YOUR input.

I've shot about an hour with an OB and after all of it wasnt impressed.
Shot with a 314, not a fan.
Shot With the HXT... eh.

Shot with a ss360 and something was different. The feel is more genuine and more "man-made" than a mass produced, pre-programed tooth pick.

I also like my Joss shafts too though.

To each their own but to me, I wouldnt play with another LD shaft for a long period.

Maybe because it was made to my specs? Maybe because I knew an actual person was making it not 95% machine made? I knew my money was going to a privately owned and operated business not some mass produced company?

I do have to say Bobs stuff is reasonably priced and high quality. When you order, its not coming off a shelf. Its MADE.

I have never heard a bad thing about BDCues or Bob Danielson and I have nothing bad to say either. I am going to have him build me a custom cue here soon too.

Once you played with the SS360 you will not go back to the OB2 .
His taper is very comparable with that of the OB2 , you will like
it a lot .

I got my demo from another player at the pool hall.
It's a custom made shaft to your specs for you.
Can't test drive a custom made for you shaft bro.
I'm sure if order one, you'll love it.

I just recieved my SS/360-2 and my OB Pro Plus is up for sale!

Once you played with the SS360 you will not go back to the OB2 .
His taper is very comparable with that of the OB2 , you will like
it a lot .

I was blown away with how much better the BD SS/360-2 plays then the new OB Pro "PLUS" I have, it was like going from my old solid maple Schon Shaft to back when the 1st Predators came out! It is that big a difference!
I don't play with Predators anymone (they have been surpassed by so many others and thier quality has gone down) also OB is scrambling around looking or I should say stealing idea's from folks like Tiger Cues.
It was a long wait for the SS/360 but it is the best shaft I have played with along with my Tiger Pro X, I have a 30" OB pro+ for sale as well as a new Mezz Hybrid Pro II, they are fitted for Schon Joints. See my photo albums for a look at all the shafts I have tried! The SS/360-2 is tops!

SS360 is one of my fav shafts hit feel ect its all there and Bob is one of the nicest guys u can meet can't go wrong with anything from him
